Providing Further Mathematics tuition
If you would like to study AS/A-level Further Mathematics and cannot do so at your school/college, either because they do not currently offer it, or because it clashes with your other timetabled subjects, then please speak to your mathematics teacher/head of mathematics about the possibility of receiving tuition through the Further Mathematics Network. Your school or college will need to contact your local Further Mathematics Centre to arrange this.
If, for any reason, your school or college cannot help you, please contact your local Further Mathematics Centre Manager directly.
Adult learners should investigate whether it is possible to study at a Further Education College in their region or contact their local Further Mathematics Centre Manager to discuss studying through the Network.
Contact details for your local Further Mathematics Centre Manager can be found by selecting the relevant Centre from the menu.
FM Network tutors can enable you to study Further Mathematics when teaching/tutorial support is not available at your school/college:
- The tutors are linked to FM Centres
- The tutors have a contact to liaise with in the your school/college Maths department
- In some cases a combination of in-house and external tutoring is appropriate
There are several models:
- Tutors visit you in your schools
- You attend lessons at university/lead centre
- Online tuition
- Email, fax and telephone
What works best depends on local circumstances. A combination of these techniques is often found to be most appropriate and effective.
