Live online professional development for teachers

Live Online Professional Development in Mathematics

FMNetwork RPD

Innovative courses to enable teachers to teach A level Mathematics and A level Further Mathematics with confidence.

The online sessions aim both to cover subject content common to all current specifications and to facilitate the exchange of teaching ideas between the teachers involved. Rather than attending a one or two day course away from school/college, delegates will use the internet to meet weekly on-line.

What the teachers say

"The online courses have really helped me develop my maths teaching. Initially I had signed up for the courses in hope of refreshing some knowledge which had grown hazy, but I also found that I learnt a lot about how to deliver the content and some very useful tips and tricks. In a way, I wish I'd done one of these courses before I started teaching each module from C1 onwards. I will certainly look to use the online courses again in the future if I need to learn any new modules. I found the weekly contact much better than going on an intensive course at a hotel or similar, as it gave me time to reflect between modules, ask questions if needed, and I also became aware that I needed to do a little preparation between sessions which helped consolidate my learning. All of the facilitators have been friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help as needed, and I've genuinely looked forward to the sessions."

"I am now teaching based on the AS Core LOPD course I did (with you) and my notes from the course are proving very very useful … I am planning to take the A2 Core Maths course now"

"Thank you for running this course. I found it very useful and I feel more confident now to carry on working on my own."

"well-prepared slides with clear explanations throughout. All questions at the time were addressed with offers of help if needed at a later date"

"Great course, great tutors - made you feel part of the session. Thanks."
