The Coventry and Warwickshire Further Mathematics Centre provides tuition and support for schools and colleges in this area. We offer revision days for students and CPD sessions for teachers. We are also able to provide enrichment opportunities to students at Key Stage 4 to encourage the uptake of further mathematics at A-level.

Teaching/Tutorial Support

Each student participating gets at least one hour per week support on each of their modules. Some teaching takes place at the University of Warwick, some at Coventry University and some at teaching venues in some of the schools/colleges listed above. We try to bring students from different schools/colleges together so that they can get to know one another and work together on their Further Mathematics. We also arrange teaching to groups in their own school wherever possible to back-up their regular lessons. There is also a hub called Solihull Further Mathematics Hub associated with the University centre.

Web-based Support

Students studying with this centre will be given a username and password so they can access high quality teaching and learning resources through Moodle. We are also able to offer remote tuition for individual modules through Elluminate.

Revision Days

A revision day, providing intense examination preparation, is held for each module. At a revision day, students receive a substantial revision pack containing summary sheets and handwritten complete solutions to exam questions. A buffet lunch is also provided. The charge for students who are not studying through the Coventry and Warwickshire Further Mathematics Centre is £5 (subsidised, as of Jan '07) for Core Maths modules and £20 for the other modules.

A buffet lunch is also provided. The charge is £20 for students who are not currently studying that specific module through the Further Mathematics Network.

Your school/college is responsible for complying with the usual regulations regarding trips for your students. Please let us know if there is anything you think we might be able to help with.
